Most solar installers in Pakistan fit the same handful of panel and
inverter brands. What actually differs between companies is the workmanship
warranty
, the starting price, and whether they handle your
net billing paperwork. This page explains the manufacturer warranties you can
expect, so the installer profiles on SolarPrices.pk can focus on what makes each company
different.

Two different warranties. The manufacturer warranty comes from the
panel or inverter brand and is the same whoever installs it. The workmanship warranty
comes from your installer and covers their labour, mounting and wiring. Only the second one
tells you anything about the installer.

Solar panel brands and warranties

Panels carry two separate warranties: a product warranty (defects in the panel
itself) and a performance warranty (a guarantee the panel still produces a stated
percentage of its rated output after N years).

Panel brand Product warranty Performance warranty
LONGi Solar 12 years 25–30 years
Jinko Solar 12 years 30 years
Trina Solar 15 years 30 years
Canadian Solar 12 years 25–30 years
JA Solar 12 years 25–30 years
Risen Energy 12–15 years 30 years
Astronergy 15 years 30 years
Suntech 12 years 25–30 years
Sunsynk 12 years 30 years
Inverex 12 years 30 years

Inverter brands and warranties

The inverter is the part most likely to need replacing during the life of your system, so its
warranty matters more than the panel warranty in practice.

Inverter brand Typical warranty
Kstar 10 years
Huawei 5–10 years
Growatt 5–10 years
Sungrow 5–10 years
Solis 5–10 years
Fronius 5–10 years
GoodWe 5 years
Inverex 5 years
SolarMax / Tesla 5 years
Sunsynk 5 years
Sofar Solar 5 years
Knox 5 years
Ziewnic 1–3 years
Homage 1–2 years
Max Power 1–2 years

Watch the short warranties. A 1–2 year inverter warranty is a meaningful
cost risk over a 25-year system life. If an installer quotes a budget inverter, ask what a
replacement costs in year three.

Battery options

Most installers in our directory offer both lithium-ion and
lead-acid batteries. Lithium costs more up front, lasts substantially longer,
and tolerates deeper discharge. Lead-acid is cheaper but needs replacing sooner. Batteries are
only needed for hybrid and off-grid systems — a straightforward on-grid system with net billing
does not require one.

What to ask your installer

  • What is your workmanship warranty, in writing? This covers their labour,
mounting and wiring. It is the single most useful question you can ask.
  • Who honours the panel warranty? Manufacturer warranties are usually claimed
through the local distributor, not the installer.
  • Do you handle the net billing application? The paperwork is slow; some
companies do it for you, others leave it to you.
  • Can I see your current AEDB certificate? Certification is required for
grid-tied net billing approvals in many areas.
