Solar Panel Prices in Pakistan: Per-Watt Rates for Jinko, Longi, JA and Canadian
The big brands are closer in price than the marketing suggests. The real risk is grade and paperwork, not brand. Here is how to buy well.
Panel prices in Pakistan are quoted per watt, and they move almost daily. So this guide covers today’s rates for the major brands, what one panel actually costs, and the traps between the quote and your roof.
It also explains the two words that matter more than any brand name: grade and documentation.
Rates checked as of August 2026, from Pakistani market price trackers and dealer listings. Panel prices shift with the rupee, shipping and stock, so confirm the day’s rate before you pay.
Today’s per-watt rates, by brand
| Brand | Popular series | Rate per watt | Known for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Longi | Hi-Mo 7 / X10 | Rs 40 – 45 | Most popular in Pakistan |
| Jinko | Tiger Neo N-Type | Rs 42 – 45 | High efficiency |
| JA Solar | DeepBlue N-Type | Rs 40 – 45 | Strong value |
| Canadian Solar | TopCon N-Type | Rs 42 – 49 | Premium, commercial favourite |
| Trina / other Tier-1 | Vertex N-Type | Rs 38 – 43 | Budget end of Tier-1 |
These rates are for A-grade, documented, Tier-1 N-Type panels. Change any of those words, and the price changes with it.
In panel terms, a 585W plate at Rs 42 per watt costs about Rs 24,600. A 620W plate runs Rs 26,000 to 27,000, and most homes need around 9 of them for 5kW.
The honest brand verdict
Here is what the price table quietly tells you. The major brands sit within a few rupees per watt of each other, and all carry 25-year warranties.
So the brand choice matters less than the market suggests. Longi wins on availability, Jinko on efficiency, JA on value, and Canadian on commercial pedigree, but none is a mistake.
The decisions that actually protect your money sit elsewhere: grade, documentation, and who installs them. That is where the rest of this guide goes.
A-grade versus B-grade: the mixing problem
A-grade panels pass full factory inspection. B-grade panels carry defects like microcracks, colour patches or scratches, and they sell for noticeably less.
The problem is not that B-grade exists. It is that B-grade panels get mixed into orders and sold at A-grade prices, and this is common enough in Pakistan to plan for.
So treat a per-watt rate well below the market as a grade warning, not a bargain. There is always a reason a Rs 34 panel is not Rs 42.
What “documented” actually means
Documented panels came through the official import channel, with papers and serial numbers the manufacturer recognises. Non-documented stock arrived by other routes, and it sells cheaper for a reason.
The difference bites when you claim a warranty. A 25-year warranty is only as good as the manufacturer’s willingness to recognise your serial number.
So ask one direct question before paying: are these panels documented, and will you state that on the invoice?
The delivery-day check that protects you
Every genuine Tier-1 panel carries a scannable barcode linked to the manufacturer’s records. So scan the panels when they arrive, before you sign anything.
Most major brands offer a verification app or serial checker for exactly this. Two minutes with your phone beats a decade of warranty argument.
And insist the exact panel model appears in your written quote. Our installer guide covers the other checks worth making before you sign.
Why prices have halved, and what that means
A-grade panels that cost Rs 80 to 90 per watt in 2023 now cost Rs 38 to 46. That is a drop of roughly half, driven by global oversupply.
For buyers, the timing is good in two ways. Panels are cheap, while grid power at Rs 37 to 55 per unit keeps getting dearer.
But it also means any quote built on last year’s rates is stale. If a quote implies Rs 55 per watt or more for standard panels, ask why.
N-Type is the standard now
Nearly all current Tier-1 panels sold in Pakistan are N-Type, often bifacial. They perform better in heat than the older P-Type designs, which matters on a Pakistani roof.
Older mono and poly distinctions are mostly history at this point. Our how solar works guide explains why heat and dust shape real output here.
Panels are only a third of the bill
At today’s rates, the panels for a 5kW system cost around Rs 220,000. But a full installed on-grid system runs Rs 500,000 to 800,000.
The rest is the inverter, structure, cabling, labour and paperwork. So compare full system quotes, not per-watt rates alone.
Our cost by size guide covers complete system pricing, our inverter guide covers the second-biggest component, and our battery guide covers storage.
Questions to ask before you pay for panels
- Are these A-grade, and will you write that on the invoice?
- Are they documented, with serials the manufacturer will recognise?
- What exact brand, series and wattage am I getting, in writing?
- Can I scan the barcodes on delivery before signing?
- What is today’s per-watt rate, and what does the full system cost?
- Who handles a warranty claim in year ten: you, or the manufacturer?
Warranty terms differ more than panel specs do. Our warranties guide explains what each one actually covers, and our payback guide shows what today’s prices mean for your return.
Frequently asked questions
What is the solar panel price per watt in Pakistan today?
A-grade, documented Tier-1 panels run Rs 38 to 46 per watt as of August 2026. Budget Tier-1 brands sit at the lower end, while premium series from Canadian Solar reach the top.
What is the Jinko solar panel price in Pakistan?
Jinko Tiger Neo N-Type panels run Rs 42 to 45 per watt. That puts a 585W panel at roughly Rs 25,000, and a 620W panel at Rs 26,000 to 28,000.
What is the Longi solar panel price in Pakistan?
Longi Hi-Mo series panels run Rs 40 to 45 per watt, with the newer X10 series at the top of that range. Longi is currently the most widely installed brand in Pakistan.
Which solar panel brand is best in Pakistan?
The honest answer is that the Tier-1 brands are very close. Longi leads on availability, Jinko on efficiency, JA on value, and Canadian on commercial use, and all carry 25-year warranties.
What is the difference between A-grade and B-grade solar panels?
A-grade panels pass full factory inspection. B-grade panels carry defects such as microcracks or colour patches, sell cheaper, and are sometimes mixed into orders at A-grade prices. So verify grade before paying.
What does a documented solar panel mean?
It means the panel came through the official import channel, with papers and serial numbers the manufacturer recognises. Documented panels cost more, but warranty claims depend on that recognition.
How do I check if my solar panels are genuine?
Scan the barcode on each panel when it arrives, before signing for delivery. Genuine Tier-1 panels carry serials that check out against the manufacturer’s records, usually through an official app or website.
Why have solar panel prices dropped in Pakistan?
Global oversupply. Panels that cost Rs 80 to 90 per watt in 2023 now cost Rs 38 to 46, a fall of roughly half. And grid electricity has kept rising over the same period.
Are N-Type solar panels better than P-Type?
For Pakistan, generally yes. N-Type panels lose less output in heat and degrade more slowly, and nearly all current Tier-1 stock sold here is N-Type anyway.
How many solar panels do I need for a 5kW system?
Around 9 panels at today’s common 585W to 620W ratings. Higher-wattage panels mean fewer plates and less roof space for the same system size.
